Unlike DTG or DTF tees, cotton refers to the fabric itself, not the printing method. This means their care should be focused on preventing shrinkage, fading, and maintaining fabric quality, since cotton shrinks/fades easily.

Washing:

• Turn it inside out to protect the print.

• Cold or lukewarm water (up to 30°C).

• Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent.

• Avoid bleach.

Drying:

• Air-dry if possible.

• If using a dryer, choose low heat.

Ironing:

• Iron inside out on medium heat.

• Avoid ironing directly over prints.

DTG Prints

DTG prints (Direct-to-Garment) are high-detail designs applied directly onto tees using specialized water-based inks. Unlike fabric-focused terms like pure cotton t-shirts, DTG refers to the printing method, not the material. Because the water-based ink is sensitive to heat/friction, DTG prints require gentle washing, cold water, and careful ironing to prevent fading or cracking.

Washing:

• Always turn inside out.

• Cold water with mild detergent.

• Gentle cycle.

• Avoid fabric softeners (can break down the ink).

Drying:

• Air-dry is best.

• Low-heat tumble drying is acceptable but less ideal.

Ironing:

• Never iron directly on the print.

• Use a cloth or parchment paper if ironing is necessary.

DTF Prints

DTF prints (Direct-to-Film) are designs printed on a special film and then heat-transferred onto tees. Unlike DTG prints, DTF can be applied to a variety of fabrics, not just cotton. Because the print relies on a heat-activated adhesive layer, it needs gentle washing, cold water, and careful ironing to prevent peeling or cracking due to excessive heat.

Washing:

• Turn inside out.

• Cold water, mild detergent.

• Gentle cycle.

Drying:

Ironing:

Screen Printing on Tees

Screen Printing on t-shirts is a method where ink is pushed through a stencil (screen) to create designs directly on the fabric. Unlike DTG or DTF prints, screen printing produces a thicker, more durable layer of ink. Because of this, it can handle slightly higher heat and washing stress, but care should still include turning tees inside out and avoiding harsh detergents to preserve the design.
